Hi All,
I have 2001 Sportage that will not start. It shut off on my wife on the way home last weekend. We had it towed home where I could check the codes in the system. It gave us the following codes. P1115, P0442 and P1624. Back in Oct. 07, we installed the timing belt and spark plugs, but it still didn't start. I had it towed to a dealer and they found it to be a faulty wiring and grounds in the harness. They also replaced the ETC and O2 sensor. I'll appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

There are a plenty of issues with the fuel pump, and rarely did someone come back with a precise indication of how he finally solved the problem but at least check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail; http://www.avigex.ca/kia/fuelpressuretest.pdf ; you will have pressure at KEY ON, even without starting the engine.

there are 2 relays (main and fuel pump)

and both have to work properly to have the fuel pump in operation.

Hi LMP,
Thanks for the information.
I have a question, I'm trying to get 12V at the fuel pump and only measuring 11.6V. I can place a jumper wire between the Fuel Pump & B+ and the pump will run, but nothing when I disconnect it. I've tried to clean the connectors on the harnesses that leads to the fuel pump and still nothing. Do you have any other ideas?

11.6 v is OK as there is some voltage drop across wires and contacts and voltage battery can also drop with various electrical loads when engine is not running.
Crank position sensor is a likely suspect.
