Looking for an alternator that has a allen keyway on the back of the alternator...I saw one before and can't remember where . I need one so I can use a cut off allen wrench as a key to drive another accessory.

most alternators have the allen key in the front to help hold the shaft to remove the nut to remove the pulley. Sure would appreciate some help, I know they make one because when I saw it the first time I thought ...how strange ! :banghead:

Please don't tell me that you're going to try to drive a supercharger off the alternator shaft.

Sorry I can't be of help on a source of the type of alternator you're looking for.

Yeah, here in Iowa I'd just drive around looking for a good 'ole boy chewing on a tube of wheat, then ask him if he ever saw such a thing as an alternator with a hex keyway on the back of the armature. He'd respond with, "Yeah, I seen one of them doohickeys on a 1982 Japanese car, I think it was a Toyota Cressida. Never did figger out what it was there for."

Unfortunately I didn't find such a good 'ole boy on my drive around today. Of course I couldn't get very far with the flooding all around. It would take me 4.5 hours to get 25 miles away. While that might not seem bad for someone from Florida, that's about 4.25 hours longer than it would normally take.
