1998 SL 500 Low accel problem?

i got the car in 1998 and since then i only have 30k miles on it. Its a great car with 405 hp, but recently ive been having some acceleration problems. When i use to floor it, the car gave a huge kick....like thrusting you back in the seat....but thats what i expected. But, since 3 days ago, whenever i floor it now, the rpm shoots up like crazy but the car doesnt accelerate that much. I hear the engine go crazy, but i just dont gain speed that fast anymore. I dont understand and this just started happeneing. Someone please give me some help?

Check the clutch plate and the pressure plate.
