Is the low side port on a lincoln ls (2000) a "special" size? The recharging refrigerants with their own hose just won't fit right! So i buy a hose that you screw onto the small can, same thing! the port diameter seems the same as the hose attachment! :banghead:

(edit here)
well, now I'm confused a bit. Just read a post that stated on the drivers side, and having to use a jack to get to it, under a plastic shield, is the service port! Is this true? is this where the low side port is? then what have I been trying to put the ref. into? a port with black cap, on front left (pass. side)??
(whatever happened to "do it yourself"??!!

There is a port on the compressor, underneath the car on the driver's side. Not bad to get to if you jack the car up. Nothing to prevent you from doing it yourself. However, I would caution you that if you don't understand the A/C system, it shouldn't be a do it yourself job. There is a high pressure side and a low pressure side, plug on to the wrong one and you could have issues.

What exactly are you trying to fix? Have you checked the pressures of the system to make sure it is low BEFORE trying to add more refrigerant to it? It is possible to overcharge the system.
