Difference between an intake manifold and plenum?

What's the difference between an intake manifold and plenum? Does anyone know of any good websites that clarify the intake and exhaust and how it all hooks up to the engine?

The plenum is a part of the intake. Its the common chamber from which the individual intake runners source their air.
