Welcome to the forum!

Is your subject implying the fuel pressure regulator is "clicking?" Which engine does your Taurus have? What fuel pressure are you experiencing, both Key On Engine Off (KOEO) and Key On Engine Running (KOER)? Do you have any starting or driveability concerns?

I'm sorry, I'm having difficulty understanding your posts. What did you mean by the portion of your thread title, "Cking fuel reg.?" Also, what do you mean by "falls on starts bad?"

If with a new properly installed fuel filter the pressure is still low, you may have a bad fuel pump or an issue with the fuel pressure sensor.

I think the 2000 Duratech Taurus uses the returnless fuel system, so you don't have a fuel pressure regulator like you are expecting. The fuel pressure sensor informs the PCM on how to adjust the fuel pump output.

Thank You again, yes I found that out about the fuel reg.when I done a fuel injection clean. For some reason after I done that it runs better and the fuel pressure is back up to 45lb,s. The system must have been so dirty and running bad it wasn,t getting good vacuume at fuel sensor for pressure!!! sorry about reading my posts, better next time, or I,m just used to working on GM cars mostly. Thank You for your time,Billy

You may want to consider giving your car a regular treatment of fuel injector cleaner to reduce the liklihood you'll have a similar issue in the future. I add a bottle of injector cleaner to our cars with every oil change.
