Mazdaspeed 3 against ze Redline

Last night I went on a cruise with a few buddies and we had a few races, but MZR and I will post those later (waiting on a video). Anyways, I headed down to a friends house with him in my passenger seat so we could pick up his srt-4. On the way down we turned off of one road and onto another. Right as I turned I noticed a car swing in the far lane and speed up, and right as it got next to me I heard a PSHHH…looked over and it was a guy in a Mazdaspeed 3 smiling so I gave him a thumbs up and he did the same back. It just so happened that the light in front of us turned red and there was no one on the road. We stopped at the light and I pointed at the light and then pointed forward and he turned off his music and nodded, he was alone by the way. We waited and as the opposite light turned yellow we started to rev a little. The light turned green and we both took off. I had a pretty good launch and had him by about a half car through the end of 1st. Shifted to 2nd, made sure I didn’t spin too much and hammered it again pulling to about a car and a half lead. I shifted to 3rd and at about 65 he started to pull back a little, and at that point I thought I was screwed…but as I hit about 80 I stopped his pull when he was about 1 length back and started pulling slowly again. I shifted to 4th at about 95, stood on it for a couple seconds and let off at 100 with him about a car and a half back. I was so pumped that I took him. I had to turn so I rolled down the window and threw out a thumbs up, and when he came by he had a huge smile on his face and gave me one of thsese… :ylsuper: I am happy with my cat-back (which I put on about 2 hours before this incident:biggrin: ) and I’m glad I ran across a cool guy…just made the race that much funner. About 2 minutes before that race I had to show up some kids in a freakin escort zx2 that thought they could pull a ricer fly-by. So I’m thinking this guy may have seen that and decided I was game, either way it was a good way to end the cruise.

I want to now... and see what I can do againt it. Good run though, love the catback. way better than that ghetto-rigged creature you had before! that has now become a Y pipe on Mike's truck :D

Good kill. Sounds like the other dude needs a fuel pump and was probably pulling out to 6k where he has no power, lol.

That is probably the case, the thing was stock I think... he had just had a dealer find one for him and he hasn't had it that long I dont think. Atleast he isnt a sore loser like Roswick might be, as he worships that thing.

I will be more than happy to race you. Though dont call it slow, even if you include the two s's. its sensative and doesnt like to be made fun of.

ive seen one type r and that had maybe 300 hp and i have yet to see a hatch with 1000 hp smalls has around 450 and hes the fastest one in town...

True that, but if he knew how to drive it? Good god. But yeah 1000whp is a bit much, all you need in a car that weighs 2000lbs is like, half that, if even that much.

and Smalls knows the guy with the 1000whp hatch. he is from minnesota or something, same with the type-R. Looking at the engines, they look like they belong in showrooms at some auto museum. Perfectly done.

At the end of the day its still a Civic. I bet he cries himself to sleep everynight knowning full well that all that money dropped to get a Civic hatch to 1k at the wheels could have been spent on something equally fast, better looking, and not a Civic.

I agree. I think it looks pretty stupid on the outside, little 15inch gold and silver spiderweb rims. Never been a fan of the way they look. Well, I DO like the new Si body. But beyond that, an NSX and S2K is about it as far as hondas go. Maybe the occasional Type-S.

But I have to wonder why he would pour all that money into that thing... Then again he is a true JDMer. He converted it to Right hand drive too. So im sure he thinks its the most badass thing ever, but in reality the world is laughing at him. We should sick Mushashi on him, that wouldnt end well.

Who are you talking about here? I don't know of any rhd civs in town..hell the only RHD car I know of in town is the legit s14 with skyline body parts

In all honesty I doubt Musashi would care unless it is completely riced. If someone wants to take a certain brand of car and make it fast that is their own perogative. And if he has the know-how to make 1000hp to the wheels my guess is he knew exactly what he was getting himself into. Take a look at some of the domestic drag cars. Many of them a these rust buckets with a body that is worth less than a f***n McChicken on the dollar menu but is still running 10's because all the money is under the hood. It's built for speed and I am sure is a blast to drive.

Closest one is like 120 miles from my house. I don't have that kind of money to be driving there and running all day. I know I would become obsessed with modding my car if I did it too. And then you are really talking about me not being able to afford it....but I'm sure you know all about that :grinyes:
