ZC Swap Questions. Help!

Okay, so we've got a 1990 CRX and we have the ZC we just put in. My friend did the DP to MP Fuel Injection, but when we started the car, it ran, but only piston 1 and 3 were getting fuel. We followed the wiring instructions from 4thgenhatch.net. Do we have to do any changes to the distributor wiring? If so, let me know ASAP. I was reading the AF thread on the ZC, but it wasn't much help with what we're stuck with. Thanks a lot

You are using the mpfi distributor right? Not the one from the original engine.

The one that came on the ZC messed up, so we went to AutoZone and bought one for an '89 Integra.

Ok good. Which ecu are you using?

chances are, when you did the swap wiring, you moved a wire too far to one side... it only takes one wire to make 2 injectors messed up, as we found out on my friend's car... keep in mind when doing wiring, it helps to have a guide, but you need the stock wiring diagrams from both cars.. in this case, the Si and the DX. go to autozone, get a Hayne's manual for $20, you'll see what you did and have it fixed tomorrow.

Yeaah, well we did the wiring following what the swap pages told us to do, but we just said forget it and we bought the ZC harness. So that should solve all the problems :] <3 eBay.

Just so you know, it is NOT recommended that you use the ZC harness when you do the ZC swap... it's recommended that you do the step by step wiring... I'm not sure why, b/c I've never bothered to try it... I"m going to use a complete Si harness (body and chassis) when I do the wiring to swap in my boosted ZC.
But I'll be taking alot of the unneccessary wiring out.

That's odd because some people say that we SHOULD use the ZC harness, while others say we shouldn't. And I don't know which to go by. We did the wiring, but it's only firing on 1 and 3 I believe. And I personally didn't do the wiring; my friend did, but there's papers all over the car explaining how to do it and he soldered/electical tape-wrapped everything. So I'm really tossed on what to do. Re-Wire everything?

And one other thing. Not even exaggerating, we've been through 3 or 4 axles. We bought them from AutoZone for an 89 Teggy. The passenger side Axle is fine. But we went to back the CRX out, and yeah, four times, the driver side axle ate itself and shit out bearings. And I'l pushed that axle so hard into the half-shaft, but there's always a little gap and it's always where it breaks. How in the hell do we get it all the way in. I've pulled it out, and pushed it in and twisted it over and over again, hammered it and everything. And it ALWAYS breaks. It's just so damn annoying.
It's like it isn't long enough. Should we be getting it from something other than an 89 Integra? Perhaps a 88-91 CRX?

98 integra is a B- series axle... I think you mean 88 integra... and besides that, I'm pretty sure you can use 2 Si axles if you're using the ZC equal length tranny.. you just use the shorter side for both sides... but google it, I'm not positive on that.
If that axle keeps coming apart, and it's the right one, consider buying new... they usually come w/a lifetime warranty on them, you'll never have to buy another one.

I said we got it from an 89 Teg, not 98. But the ZC has the intermediate shaft attached, so I don't think the CRX axle will fit. I just read that the alxes from a 1990 to 1993 Teg will work. Not 89. Gah so damn confusing. I love my Prelude. :P

The intermediate shaft is the reason the tranny runs equal length axles.. they're the same axle on both sides... you need two pass side axles from a 90-93 'Teg.. but I'm still pretty sure the Si Pass. side axles work too... maybe not tho.
