I had a problem kind of like yours. My idle, for a while was fluctuating anytime I changed the shifter on the Auto trans from in gear to out of gear. I also had the check engine light come on. Looking at the engine, on the left at the rear is a small steel line that feeds the EGR valve. If it clogs up enough it will mess with the idle. You pretty much have to remove the steel line. It faces downward towards the EGR. Remove the two bolts on the intake manifold, the one bolt further down that keeps it stable and the two bolts on the EGR. Now blow through it with lots of pressure. Now use a small wire and poke it through the opening in the intake manifold, that is more than likely where the clog is. If you clean the clog out good enough you will get a peerfect idle.
