Hi all!
this is another super raritat aftermarket ferrari from the 50's. again it was based on a 250GTE chassis & an one off car, so that means only one car existed.
again i have no skill (intention) to build it complete so i've chosen to post this here. it seems like i do have a taste in all those classic aftermarket ferraris nowadays...maybe due to my age!? hehe...

i understand that this rare gem is now on sale somewhere. again i used a spare 275 nart body for the mod. pics coming soon, stay tune.

Hi, when i say aftermarket ferrari...it means the car itself is a ferrari. somebody from the outside took the original car & modified it into another.
some of the famous 'outsiders' are bertone, koenig, hamann, nembo, drogo, zagato, novitec, pinnifarina & this fantuzzi...
just like mercedes you have AMG, koenig, zender etc...
for low rez, i don't know what it means...

Excellent job there. I'm not very accustomed to these one off Ferraris so I'll take a tour on Google before commenting, and I'll also wait till you finish them and put some primer on it, so that we can get an better view of it.

will do, jano...prime the body for a better look, after i have corrected the mess on the wheelbase for this car.
a ferrari builder NIKO has spotted the wrong wheelbase on this car too, it prompted me to do something to about it.
i'll carried out the correction works in 6 hours' time...hope it all goes smoothly then.
thankx again to niko...you are indeed sharp!
i'll post pics after the correction, so stay tune...

Ah, terminology.
some of the famous 'outsiders' are bertone, koenig, hamann, nembo, drogo, zagato, novitec, pinnifarina & this fantuzzi...
I've always used the term "coachbuilder" or "carrosserie" for out-of-house companies that build complete bodies on chassis supplied by Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls Royce, etc.
And "aftermarket tuners" for companies like Brabus and TechArt that modify existing cars. AMG started that way, but they were purchased by Mercedes in 1999. http://www.motortrend.com/features/scenes/112_0009_dreamfac/index.html.
Of course, the term "tuner" has now been appropriated by American modifiers of Japanese imports.
for low rez, i don't know what it means...
Sorry. I just meant that the foreground of the photo - the car itself - looks as though it were taken with a smaller camera with not-so-many megapixels, and then enlarged too much. But effect that doesn't show on the trees in the background. Seemed odd to me, and made me wonder if the photo was a composite of come kind.
Your work is very cool. Thanks for showing us.

Not a big problem given your skills, just add 8.33 millimeters to it and it's done!
The question is, where do you have to add them?! ;)

ah, good question jano!
ok, wheelbase from 2400mm to 2600mm...so obviously it's added to...the wheelbase!
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z217/sbc3133r/nat7.jpg
but for this fantuzzi, the same wheelbase cannot be apply here. a study on the pics on hand tells me the section after the doors is also looked to be a little extended...
so logic (yes, again!) tells me to split the 8.33mm into 2 parts...the longer piece into the front of the door & the short one to the rear deck.
this is how it looks now...
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z217/sbc3133r/nat9.jpg
honestly, the body look better proportion after the added wheelbase!
thankx niko, for pointing that shortfall to me.
cheers!:naughty:

among all the AF modelors, i cherish your comments the most!
to me you're consider the 'master grade' level...sanely impossible builder!
a look at your brilliant works on the net says it all.
yes, i'll try to prime the body for a better look ASAP.
seems this kinda mod is really luck + skill...good thing i'm using a scrap body to start with.
priming's next...stay tune.

Hi jano!
thankx for following my wild mods all this while...yes, both are ready to be primed next.
i must say i'm a little optimistic about how they will turn out after priming, i can sense that they won't be 100% the correct shape when they're primed.
well, that's up to you the judges to judge the outcome...hopefully they look more or less the real thing!
wish me luck!

ok, regarding this issue...let me elaborate further.
as you know, these mods consist of the body & the chassis. now unless you're willing to undertake the hectic & fustrating chassis works coming along the way...having only the modified body is just half the story.
just like a resin 250GTO 64 mini exotics body i have in prossession now, i still need to modify the GTO chassis extensively in order to fit the 2 together.
question is, are you willing to go through all these or you want a MFH style kit!?
price is the next thing...i can't afford MFH kits, so i turn to the altenative of mod-ding the plastic kits. i have not much time left jano, judging from my worsening eyesight. if i have to (BTW i don't have the expertise) design a MFH style resin kit to sell, i'll have no time left to mod ALL those rare ferraris i want in this life...
you see the point bro? that's exactly what my intention of showing the raw form pics of the body works to all...make a study of what i've done & or even supercede my steps is THE idea.
bring modeling to the next higher level of NO restriction, the freedom of whatever car you want...whatever car you mod!!!
you agree bro?:sly:

I'd rather modify the chassis for one of the bodies you are making than waiting for MFH to do them.
As we all know the 330 LMB has been on their list for 18 months, still we got nothing yet.
I do however understand your point, because doing it yourself gives you that special feeling!
