Anyone familiar with the power tail gate lock assembly on these vehicles? The tailgate handle was broken and partly disassembled when it arrived. Obtained another from wrecker but I didn't notice that there is a pin and perhaps other parts like a spring which engage the tumbler assembly The pin goes into the side of the tumbler assembly to prevent rotation of the handle until the power lock is operated. Found a pin in the box of stuff that came with the vehicle which looks like it should be the one. It has a arrow head shape in the middle.
1) Anyone know which direction it points?

Whoops. That wasn't completed yet. LOL
2) Is there a spring on this pin?
3 The pin is about have dia of the hole in side of the tumbler assembly. Is it possible there is a sleeve to go the pin to make it fit the tumbler assembly?

TIA

Fixed!
Checked with the local dealer. They had the part in stock. Checked it over and found the pin was broken but there is no spring or other part missing. This may be a weakness in the power lock assembly since both power locks I have on hand have the pin broken.
Was able to completely disassemble and machine a new pin. The whole project took about 2-3 hours but it was worth it considering the parts are $50+. I took some photos if anyone else should be having trouble. You'd have to have access to a lathe to do this repair yourself though.
Next it's on to the power side door. One cable is broken and the parts are discontinued. :-(
