After doing some research, I'm finding that everyone has a different idea in regard to how often to flush a car's power steering system. I'm sure that some cars might differ from others, but in general what is a good rule of thumb? Please vote and let's see what most people say....

unnecessary and frivilous. A shop money maker. The only time power steering fluid should be flushed is if there was a catastrophic system failure that allowed metal particles in the system or if the wrong type fluid was added.

You might consider editing the poll and adding a never or not needed option.

At the right side of screen you should see Thread Tools. A pull down menu. Then you should see Edit Poll. Only you or a Moderator can edit the poll.

Good! I was starting to get scared! 120,000 miles in and I was starting to worry since mine has never been flushed and replaced! Good to hear it is not important

344,000 miles so far and never been flushed or a problem and still steering like crazy.
