I had just recently replaced my motor in my car since the last one blew on me. It ran fine when i first recieved it, but when i was about to leave my house i tried to start it "nothing" the only thing i heard was the starter clicking and the fuel pump. it didnt even to start. does it have to do with the Anti-Theft System since it has an aftermarket stereo?:uhoh:
PLEASE HELP!

I'd test the battery, should have at least 12.4 volts or more.
ALso make sure your terminals at the battery and the engine grounds are claen and tight!
Might check the fuses too.
hope that helps and welcome to AF !

we checked all of that, even took the battery in to autozone and they said it was fine. we checked the fuses all we good. my friend who is a mechanic who had put the motor in found a way to start it by messing with the neutral safety switch.

Ok, so this is the second time i've posted the same problem, but this time with some more information. My car refuses to start after i've had the motor replaced. it ran fine the first time. Although when i got home and was about to leave the house i tried to start it, and nothing. no crank or nothing. so the guy that had put my motor in came by and was looking at it. he had done something under the hood i think he said something like short-cross wiring and it started right up. but when i shut it off it wouldnt start again. please help me i need to get this car running ASAP.
Also it refuses to go into gear.:eek7:

No need to post another thead on the same topic, they have been merged.
Its possible that the wires or a fuse link are damaged or shorting from the starter.

Hey guys... does this sound like a starter solenoid problem to anybody else? I had a similar problem when i owned a grand prix and we found it to be the solenoid.
Hope this helps.

I would guess the shift cable is out of adjustment or the transaxle range switch is bad.
