1993 Chevy 5.0 no spark

I have a 1993 Chevy 1500 pickup truck . I had turned off the ignition and when I tried to restart it would turn over but not start. It is getting fuel but there is no spark. I changed the ignition pick-up coil and it started four times. I drove it for about 10 minute after that and turned the ignition off. When I tired to restart again there is no spark . Does anyone have a clue to what the problem could be.
THANKS

On my 92 the ignition control module went out on me. The little black piece under the distributor cap with two electrical connectors going to it. Pull the cap and change the ICM. When they wear out those things get hot and stop working and you have to let the engine cool down then they might start working again. This might be the problem with yours.

Go to the Rock Auto website and look up the AC/Delco part number D1943A for your 93 5.0 liter.

I took the ICM to Auto Zone had it checked and it was good. They ran a check on it several times to get it hot . It's like when , whatever gets hot it opens and then no spark. Will do some more checking today.

Replace it and be done with it.

The auto guys at O'Reilly's told me the same thing except they said they could never get it as hot as the engine compartment can get it. They could check it to see if it works, but not at temperature.

Good luck, let us know what you find.

Ok I did some more checking and this is what I have come up with. I disconnected the ground batt. lead and let it set awhile after I connected it back up I had spark . It started and shut it off and tried to restart , no spark go thur the same thing disconnect the batt. , reconnect and spark. What would cause that?
Thanks

Run the no start no spark test when it does it and find out.
Any codes or check engine lights.
Have you done the old pcm tap/twist test.
A bad pcm or dist module are sensitive to temp change.

If it is not a known good dist module replace it and see what it does.
