Quick question for You experts

You guys always help Me out. It's nice to be able to post without a real problem.

I have a 94 olds cutlass supreme s. I had the check engine light come on about every 13 miles and as soon as I shut the car it would reset for another 10/15 miles. At the same time My ac sudenly when completely empty after 4 years of no problems. I had it charged and I have not noticed the light come on for a week.

1) Will there still be a code some where in there.
2) Does the check engine light come on over a AC problem.

Have autozone scan your computer.The ac would throw a code if it was empty.that would be a good starting point.

Thats what I thought but the 2 locations I asked tell Me they don't go back to 94 and I have to call around for the right store. I walked away shaking My head. I live in Las Vegas...

Your '94 has OBD I and requires a different way to access the codes than an OBD II system ( 1996 and up). Here is a link that explains a quick way for a DIY er to access the codes on their vehicle. You can use a paper clip opened up to ground out the A & B terminals. If you can get the codes, you can post them here for an explanation as to what they are.

What slays me is that Autozone gives away the little jumper on a keychain for OBDI -- right there on their counter-- so why doesn't he offer that to you???

It fits right in the ALDL to jumper out a & b terminals-- got to get the right counterperson I guess........

Well what I have is in the picture below (not My connector). I have terminals where You see the white arrows. Do I just jump the first two terminals at the beginning of the jack that are opposite of each-other? Is there any way I can short something out if I jump the wrong terminals?

I have terminals in the connector at the A, M, and D or F, G, and D spots on the connector. There are no markings on the connector at all, But none of the terminals are side by side.
