Been searching for quite some time for a turbo in 1/24 scale. Something like this:

This is the Parts Box's turbo with a bend (Product id: 594). Problem with ordering from them...minimumorder is $20 and S&H is $12 making it a $32 proposition just to get a $3 part! Does anyone carry these items in the US??

Well get a couple, its cheaper than any other site. And i think partsbox is a USA company. Try other companies like hiroboy.com or mediaMIX HOBBY but then are out of the country making shipping even more.

Parts box is based out of Australia and in the end I only need one...

You will want more, trust me! Then again, if not, I'm sure there are other parts on the site that might interest you or be useful on future builds

There are plenty of good parts on there, have a browse. Check out their ICE gear and seats.
MidMazar, the parts box is based in Adelaide Australia, Hiroboy gets his parts from them too. Check the part numbers on his site, they are TPBXXX usually.

Try and old INDY kits they have really nice turbos in them.
I piced up 4 of them at a show for $10 just to take the turbos.
Several on e-bay for under $5.

Scratch build it!
It's gonna be hard to find one thats just right.
break a complicated part into simple shapes...
guess on the size... If it looks wrong make another...
in most real car apps its so hard to see the turbo itself because of all the plumbing anyway.

In a perfect world that's what I'd do. But you're talking to a guy who's 5 years behind on projects! These days the goal is to overcome as many obstacles as possible and to not create "traps" that lead to projects lingering. Though at that rate I should just suck up the $32 I suppose...

You're talking like the old Monogram Indy kits? Or do you have something else you are thinking about?

Start a group buy from him?
I have bought a bunch of parts from there, a few years ago now.
