01 park ave keyless entry

I've looked on the tips and info under buick but can't seem to find how to program the original keyless entry remote. I replaced the module in the trunk with the bat disconnected and now the remote won't work. Anyone have the procedure? is it the one where you jump dlc #4 & 8 , close doors, turn ign on and then hold lock and unlock?? please help

It probably needs a Tech tool to do the programming. If it's like the 00 and up LeSabres that is the case. Additional keys can be added as long as you have the original key that works, but the remotes need to the TechII.
