Any other tire size that closely resembles this size? The OEM seems to be an odd and expensive size.

Tires in general tend to be expensive. My best suggestion is to shop around to find the best price at local tire shops. Most shops will order a tire if you are looking for a specific brand/type. I just searched around on Tirerack.com and the cheapest I found was 86 per tire by "general" Now I'm not one to buy no-name brand tires. BfGoodrich tend to be reasonably priced. What ever you do... DO NOT get goodyear LS2 or RSA tires. They do not hold up at all or do well in weather.

I agree and disagree. The GoodYear Eagle RSA tires are excellent for the dry pavement performance. Not a good snow or wet weather tire but many of us do not have to worry about that. However, I had no problems in the rain either. We went 48K miles with our Goodyear Eagle RSA P225-50/R16 V rated tires before they finally wore out which were stock on a '02 Olds Alero GL2. The replacement GoodYear Eagle F1 "All Season" Z rated tires are even better and make up for the weather factor the RSA did not have.
I currently have the RSA on my GTP too. P245-45/R18. Works like a champ both street and strip.
