1990 xlt Ignition problem..

Okay so I just bought this 1990 bronco xlt. It wont start with the key but I can take a screwdriver to the starter solenoid and it will crank right up. I checked the connection to the neutral safety switch to see if it was connected and it is. But I dont have the tools to check if its getting power or not. The Chassis is really fucked up. I can follow the S wire from the solenoid until it gets to a jumble of probably 200 other wires up by the master cylinder. So far its just a damn headache, and I cant find where the problem is. I already replaced the solenoid. Is there any Handy way to check the Neutral safety switch, and the ignition switch? The key works and will turn everything on (lights, etc...) but no turning over... someone please help.

The next time you go to the junk yard buy a side indicator bulb, connector and about 18 inchs of wire. You can make a jumper for the neutral safety switch if it starts buy a new one. Use your new tester and check for power to the solenoid if the bulbs lights you have power. Northern supply sells a test light for around $6.00. Check one item at a time. If you can afford parts you can afford a tester.
