Routes pressurized engine oil out to a small radiator to cool it off before returning to the pump...
whoops. Meant returning to the engine, duh...

Also may refer to a trans oil cooler, which is part of the radiator on most cars/trucks, some trucks have an external trans cooler in front of the radiator.

Ever take an internal one out of the radiator tank?
Kinda neat design...nice chunk of brass.

Yeah, but they sure seem undersized for the job.

this may be a retarded question, but, is that also referred to as an inter cooler? and is it mounted on the front side of the radiator as you stand in front of the car???
also, max, what is the best performance chip for the 92 lum z34 lq1?
i hear jet chips, superchips, and hypertech. there is also one available on the 60degreeV6 forum. a guy named ben i guess makes them. havent seen much feedback on it, just selling points...
i need to know which one would be best with options, cooling fan timing, timing curve, air/fuel ratio, shift points, etc... ben claims to have done dyno testing with his, but im still leary due to the price "$99". thats awfully cheap for a performance chip. any insight???
btw, i went back to the stock box air filter. but left the hose from the end of the box to the open area behind the head light...

whoops. Meant returning to the engine, duh...Where does it sit in a engine,,,would one ever go out? (I know a few things about cars, and engines, but this is a first on me)Would that also make my low coolant light stay on,or blink?? Thanks

Intercooler usually refers to a kind of radiator that cools boost air from a turbo or supercharger, cooler boost is less likely to cause detonation, so you can use higher boost pressures with an intercooler and get more power...
Ahead of the radiator you have the condensor for the A/C, then in front or to the side of that may be an oil cooler or add-on tranny cooler...some cars even have a small radiator under the car that's part of the power steering line, helps improve P/S component life.
Is that an actual ECM prom chip, or just an inline shunt that some dealers refer to as a chip? Some are actually only a resistor set that goes inline of the ECM wiring and tricks the ECM into thinking sensor values are different than they actually are, and so affects timing, mixture, shift points, etc...

i believe his comes in two parts. one piggybacks the original chip and the other goes to the ecm under the dash on the passenger side "kick panel". would it be better to just get a programmer? Im simply looking for more hp and torque. he also says you can disable the egr "not that i have any interest in that", dont even know what good that would do.
as you know this car has no 0-60. but once you hit 3500rpm, it has monster pick-up. once i get that 0-60 improved, i'll be happy. thanks for your time, please advise.
oh, i found out its for the tranny "what is hooked up on the front of the radiator"...
btw, heres the link to bens chip:

I wouldn't want to disable EGR on a street engine without boost. EGR not only controls NOx emissions, it helps control detonation under load, protecting the engine from damage.
That's an interesting product he's selling. price seems pretty good. I'd be tempted to try it if I was looking for a bump.
