trying to find out how much more air flows threw a hacked 1g MAS. the lower comb and screw is backed out flush thats it. so i can compincate on my afc.would it be flowing round the 2g MAS flow now or more?

no i need a logger and egt guage thats coming soon,im tunning with the apexi neo and only reading the narrowband o2s i no its not the best way to tune but that all i have for now.at ide o2s cycle at .3 to .7 and at WOT only when at full boost they go to around .86 to .89(just threw that in)

Buy a logger.

I will only respond to tuning-related threads that you post with "buy a logger". NOBODY wants to take pot-shots at tuning your car, only to have you blow the thing up.

.89 sounds a little lean. When I use to tune with the NBO2 I tuned for .98v. This made a 11.5af ratio on the dyno. And I was around 200ft above sea. The higher the altitude the leaner you tune.

In your other thread Kevin showed proof that .98 is not 11.5:1. I can't see how anyone tunes off a narrowband, it seems so damn inconsistent. With DSMLink i have all my sliders zero'd for fuel and the last log i made the NBo2 hits about .86 with no knock. If i tuned for .98 I'm not sure how much fuel i'd have to add. Not sure how close the DSMLink A/F estimates are but they put the run no higher than 10:1.

thanks to all.would it work if i just bot a wideband o2 without the guage? i no there 5 wires instead of 4 like the stock one.could i just hook it up like the narrowband then run the extra wire to my afc(the blue wire mod)?

my o2 must not be working right cause ive added like plus 20 across my afc just to see what my o2s do and the car smells so rich but the volts dont go past .88 to.90 no matter how much fuel i put.

I bet if you bought a logger, you'd have a good idea what your sensors and fuel management were doing...

your right but im not rich, got a home, kid, wife, bills so i try to do with what i can till the money for the logger comes around.i've herd you the last three posts,so what do u do when you dont have the gagets and gizmos you need but you love the car and would like to add a little more boost, or just no your not gonna blow it up.
the MAS hack was a free mod so i said what the hell i figure now that i got an afc i could tune close,im new to dsm's and figured some 10yr vet. could help with the extra air flow a hacked MAS flows, thats all im asking.

Being a smartass isn't going to help you either. Tell your wife, kids, etc that you blame some guys on the internet for your blown motor you have to rebuild when it pops...then tell them you could have avoided the situation by NOT buying things in the wrong order and spending a little money on a cable, some free logging software, and a 10dollar Palm M100.

Airlfow varies. At what RPM do you want me to hazard a guess on airflow? How much air is the snail flowing at that RPM?

your right.all cars are different and it would be a guess but experienced guess is better than none or mine.but your right its my dd so il just cut down the boost and wait for the logger, but is that all il need or are people gonna say wideband, egt guage etc....next?will the afc and logger do just fine?

I had an AFC and logger for years in the old car. I tuned around knock, timing, and injector duty cycle and did well. I eventually added an EGT, but rarely used it.

nowdays, the wideband is much more affordable, but I believe that tuning using a logger and AFC is a shit-ton better than using the old butt dyno and having others guess at what MIGHT be going on with the car.

Forgive me for being blunt, but I've seen a lot of motors go over the years (thankfully not mine) and prefer to be slow and safe than quick for 5 seconds and down for a rebuild.

The only thing Kevin proved what that using his nbo2 and his WBo2, .98v does not equal 11.5 af. This proves nothing about whether this is what I tuned my car to. There are way to many factors involved to make the readings vary.

The original poster wants to tune off the NB so I gave him my values that I used. Like I stated earlier, height above sea level is going to make those values change. You cant say I am wrong, according to my sensors and conditions my values are correct.
