My blower motor stopped working only to come on again about an hour later, then stop and start a couple more times in a two day period before going out completely. Car has 42,000 miles on it so no warranty on this part. We took the blower motor out and tested it and it works. Tested the control module and it is dead. The problem we are having is we cannot get the module out. The one bolt was easy enough to take out but the two fasteners ( we thought they were some sort of torque head screws) well nothing works on them. I was told that they are rivets that have to be drilled out by the guy I am buying the part from. Does anyone know if this is true? and what will fit in there to get them out? I replaced both the blower motor and resister on my 98GT and had no problems - other than fitting down there to get em out. Thanks for any help.

I also have an '07. If this part failed with 42000 miles, I'd complain like crazy to the dealer. They certainly should fix this under warranty or, at most, half. You are only 6000 miles past warranty and in the second year of three. My Dad and I and others I know with similar failures have had these items covered by GM. The key is to get approval in advance.
