i finaly purchased the new d16y8, i'm doin dc sport header intake (DAC), and exhaust, twin canister, with a new cat. thats about it for perfirmance upgraged that do not include my suspension so i'm assuming i'll have about 140-145hp total. will a suplimental 25-35hp nitrous oxide system damage my car, because i'm not sure of what the stock internals can handle. i don't have the extra $$ to put in forged internals so if this isn't the brightest idea, then i won't do it. i was thinkin of a Zex nitrous sustem.

I dont think they have any nitrous oxide boost that low. I think i have came by one and you shouldn't pay the money for it. a 25 to 30 hp upgrade cmon. There is however a import kit from NOS that i would say get because its for imports. I think its a 75 hp boost. If you go to the NOS site it gives you the formula. But that little hp boost wont help much. Think about most passenger cars now have 200hp standard, grand prix for instance is 200 hp, you will not be going 200 with that little boost, but if you want it that product that will give it to you will be in the hidden systems

thanks for your reply, i understand what you mean about the 200hp think, even saturn has a 200hp car now. my main comcern is how potent of a shot i can use on my car with out having to do major work building the internals. i would rather a 50-75hp shot but i did not think that was safely possible.

i think it depends on how much times your gonna shoot. like if you onlyl shoot little bit then i say run a 50 shot, but if your gonna shoot like every weekend then i say run a 35 shot. zex makes a kit that shoots 35, and 55

Zex makes a little shot huh, alright now a fwe things. if you are gonna be in the whole import world and race for money id get something that will give me that 75 hp if im gonna lose money, if i jus want a little help get that 35 to 55. Also if you are going to be in the import world as i call it and it is your car you drive all the time then i say the 35 so you dont mess up anything, also id try to find that formula so you can see what your max hp boost from nitrous would be

If you slapped a 75 shot on a y8 just because you want more bang for your buck then you'd have to spend more $$$ to fix your blown motor after a couple runs. You could always upgrade after you get your 35 shot. Better safe than sorry.

thanks for the advice, i probably will go with the 35 shot since its my daily driver, but i had another idea that requires a bit more saving and still gives my stock reliablity...check out my other post...

35 shot will be fine. If I put a 35 shot on my civic I would be kicking some ass. My car already kicks some pretty good ass.

If your looking for more horsepower for the same price then I have the answer for your problems. I'm refering to the April 2003 issue of HONDA TUNING where Greg Leone (you might have seen him in MTV's Truelife: I'm a street racer and also in the background shots of that infamous movie we've all seen, F&F) Anyway he built a custom turbo set up for his Cr-x using custom welded piping and a 2nd Generation Eclipse Tubo with a 1st Gen intercooler all built for $560.00! He gained 60.8 hp and had 167.1 lb-ft of torque. He also was only running 6 pounds of boost.

Please don't comment if you don't know what the hell you are talking about. When you buy a stage 1 EFI kit through NOS, Nitrous Express or Zex you get three diffrent nozzles with the kit a 35 shot a 50 shot and a 75 shot. With your setup I would recommend getting a 35 shot which is about a 25-30 HP gain and you will notice a diffrence and it is very streetable. By the way there is no way that you could gain 25 horses from I/H/E and high flow cat you will be lucky to gain 10 horses from this.
