Pontiac Grand Prix/Am

I've been looking around the internet for used cars. I stumbled upon pontiacs, and I found this obsession with them for some reason.

One question is that being a new driver, are GP/GA good cars for new teenage drivers? Which years and models are suitable for me? What milage is reasonable for a used GP/GA?

Also, I'm curious about their prices .:confused: Why are they significantly lower than other cars?

Yes, those models would be good for a teenager, as would the Sunfire, and Bonneville,

A lot would depend on your budget and how much you're willing to spend.

What milage is reasonable for a used GP/GA?
Figure on an average of 12 to 15,000 miles per year. If the mileage is above that average, you could possibly use that to get a better price on the car.

In the lineup at GM, Chevrolet and Pontiac are considered the "value" vehicles, more "entry market" geared towards the younger buyer so their prices tend to be lower from the start. Pontiacs also tend to have more options than Chevys, or are bundled together more in packages, and are considered "sportier" in some cases.

Also, how much money do the usually cost to maintain? (yearly)

and is the toyota solara a good car for a first timer?

A Grand Am or Grand Prix shouldn't cost more than $400/yr to maintain.

The Solara isn't a bad car. However, i'd be wary of ones with high mileage as they can have transmission issues which are very expensive to correct.

Wat would you consider "high milage"?
and whats a tiptronic? and wats it used for?
