Are there any 700r4 transmissions that don't have the lockup torque converter and aren't computer controlled. Thanks for the help.

There are ways to use a 700R4 transmission without a computer if that's what you're looking for.

To answer your question, the 700R4 _requires_ a lockup converter - all of them do - if you do not use lockup, you risk frying the 3-4 clutch. Also, only the 4L60E variant required a computer - all other 700R4 or 4L60 transmissions are hydraulic. Check for the presence of a TV cable - if you find one, you have the right transmission.
You can replace a pressure switch inside the transmission for the lockup, then all you have to do is run an ignition-on power source (and ground) to it. The transmission will take care of the lockup function automatically.

Short of using a computer to control the lockup, no. It's not a difficult thing to take the pan off and replace the pressure switch. You need an oil sending unit socket, a 1/2" (or 13mm) socket, ratchet, extension and some oil (4 qts trans oil), plus the switch and reconfigured wiring harness. It's about 30 minutes worth of work.

Go to www.bowtieoverdrives.com and indulge. There's a LOT to learn about the TV system, if you want the transmission to survive.
