Just wondering, who on this site has the highest post count? Seems like I've come across a few with over 10,000... They must really know their cars.

FWIW, i dont think post count has anything to do with knowledge of cars. for example, a reasonably knowledable member has 10k+ post, but if you look at his post history, most of them are spent in the off topec sections of our site.

I once heard of a guy that had 200,000 posts, (might have been on this site), but I think something happened to his post count and he complained about it, so just to hush him up the mods gave him that radically high post count. In reality he had nowhere NEAR that many posts!!!

I think that the number of posts has absolutely nothing to do with anything ! If you look at some individuals , with high post counts , and look at some of their posts , you'll discover many are one word posts . Anything to drive the post count up as if to suggest the high count represents knowledge or expertise . Then if you read some of those individual's actual posts , it becomes evident very quickly that often their knowledge or expertise doesn't match their inflated post count ! Just my $0.02 !

It goes the other way too. Obviously you are trying to justify your low post count or low participation level on AF. Most if not all the members who are most likely Moderators with the highest post counts on AF have paid their dues and contributed greatly to AF so I would be careful with unfounded comments that have no basis in fact. :nono: And you are welcome to review my post history and content. As a matter of fact show me a one word post or any non-contributory posts where I lack automotive expertise. Remember there are always exceptions.

bnaylor , first let me apologize to you ! I wasn't talking about you or any other specific person . Just talking about observations of some posters . no , I'm not trying to justify my low post count ! There's no one here that I need to justify anything to . Low post counts , just like high post counts , show nothing about a person's experience or expertise . I post if I have a question or think I can answer some one else's question . I don't talk ( post ) just to hear myself talk ! If you look through the various sections of this forum , I think you'll see examples of what I meant in my original post . Again , I wasn't trying to " rile " anyone with my post , but , apparently I did !:nono: Apparently from greenblur's ( AF moderator ) post above , his thoughts on the subject , at least , somewhat parallel mine .

Apparently from greenblur's ( AF moderator ) post above , his thoughts on the subject , at least , somewhat parallel mine .

Maybe yes or maybe no. :dunno: You have to realize his areas frequented or what he is responsible for on AF probably matches or justifies his comment but my point is it is not necessarily applicable to other AF members with a high post count, especially over 10,000 posts. I won't mention the specific forum or forums but it is obvious where that area on AF is. However, contrary to Greenblurr93's generalized comment we have Moderators and regular members that do not frequent the O/T sections and if they do it is a very small percentage of their total post count not the majority which are most likely technical posts at the tech forums frequented or wherever the Moderator is assigned. Many Moderators are assigned to multiple forums and some with high traffic so it is not uncommon to average at least 10 posts a day so that will add up over a years period of time and based on the cumulative years the member has been signed up or contributed on AF.

Or maybe he is referring to YogsVR4 or Oz. :uhoh:........

Or BluCivic, or 00accord.... haha yes i was referring to the OT sections which have a number of members whos post count is mostly off topic... and while they know a good amount about certain vehicles... i wouldnt call them genious' either

While i moderate those sections, you'll find i rarely post in them.

I never said that I was talking about you or any of the moderators . I know someone , in your positions ( moderators ) , would require multiple postings on a regular basis .That was not what I was saying ! If you look at the posting prior to your last ,you will see a prime example of what my original post was saying .People post something like that simply to drive up the post count . Frankly , I don't understand your reaction , actually I think over reaction , to my original post. You seem to take it personally and you started to attack me because of it ! Why did you take it so personally ? I don't know you and certainly haven't taken it on myself to check your post count ! Why would I ? I come here , as I do in any forum , to try to gain or share knowledge . Not to play games . I have apologized to you already , could that be reciprocated ?

Wow. I had never seen so many posts by the same user ( Now: Total Posts: 256,310). Per day, his percentage is not very high, but the first data... Really impressive.
