Figured I would add this to one of my posts....wanted to say what's up and looks like a cool board . Bought my 1990 Grand am new and currently has 219K and really haven't had much trouble with it. Not my daily driver as much but with current gas prices it may soon be. Alot of oil changes and a few timing chains and all is good.
Looking desperately for a drivers side window seal for the top of the door for a 2DR. I have the pass side but cannot locate a drivers side. This is the long trim piece with the chrome strip that seals the window from inside the door and rides under the side mirror.

Are you looking for jus the chrome facsia trim or the weather stripping behind it? Either way your best bet is to search around at salvage yards. You may get lucky and find one, especially if the car was in a previous accident in the side alot of times they ended up with newer weather stripping. I recently found 1 of the back window facia's as well as the door window weatherstripping in perfect shape. A very rare find!

The piece i'm looking for is where the bottom of the glass meets the top of the door on the outside, has the weatherstrip to keep water from getting inside the door...or at least minimize it. I got the pass side from the dealer but he was out of the drivers side.

You will not probally find one at an auto salvage yard. Most yards crushed the old stuff due to prices of crush when it was up.Watch out,the part might be obsolete due to the age of the car and GM sometimes discontinues parts after 10 years.

Ah I know which one you are talking about. I found one on a 90 grand am in a salvage yard by me however I couldn't get it off due to the location of the car ( sunk in the mud and could barely get the door open) Mines all cracked with chunks missing out of it as well.

that's very true. sometime you get lucky and get one of the last ones that is on the shelf in a GM warehouse! For the crushing part that will depend on the salavage yard and the car. As long as you find an 85-91 grand am, Olds Calais, Buick somerset/skyhawk, you should be fine with most parts such as weatherstripping mechanical and a few other odds and ends.
