I bought this yesterday from a guy that runs this old toy shop in town. Occasionally he gets some old kits in and I usually buy them if they're any good. It's the same guy I got the Hasagawa 962C from. Anyway he had this kit and it looked fantastic for a plastic 1/24. I mean it's nothing like the quality of a resin kit but it's a very good effort. I mean for example they've given me springs for the dampers. Anyway was really impressed with it and bought it. However I've never heard of the manufacturer before and don't know a lot about the kit. It appears to be made by 'Union' but if anybody could shed some light it'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

Here's some pictures to illustrate:

From Alex Kustov's ferrari kit database www.italianhorses.net (http://www.italianhorses.net) ...

it's a repackage of a Heller kit

... yes - I built this kit almost 20 years ago. It was already then a previous Heller kit, since the French text on the box.

Nice kit for the price at that time. I added some louvred ait vents on the bonnet. Was a nice, clean build for me.

Well alright, perhaps that wasn't the best way to word the question, but there was no need for the sarcasm, I was only trying to tap into the knowledge of the forum members to see if anybody knew anything about the kit...

And thanks pawlie and ferraripaul, you've been most helpful :)

Hah!

what you're seeing here is the king of all plastic KIT for the ferrari P4 drogo!
this is the best full detail kit you can find, those fujimi ones can move aside...

by the way, i understand union, heller & one more unknown maker do the same car...all with full engine details.

but if you have enough $$$ to spare, then of course the MFH P4 resin kit is the one to get...

to me, i'm very very contented to have this one...it's still residing happily in my ferrari cupboard!

hehe...

No offence...what he meant was the unbuild kit is really what's printed on the box. i know this guy...he's quite well versed in ferrari kits.

believe me, some opened kits aren't NOT the actual thing what the box described!

yes, i've this experience buying from ebay before...that's why i never trust opened box kits!!!

cheers!:runaround:

I have in the past been burned by people on line selling "unopened" collector kits where they have a rare kit BOX, then fill it with old sprues, and some junk car body (so you can feel the body if you apply pressure on the box, I suppose). They then seal it back up with shrink wrap that appears to be original. This is why I'd prefer to purchase opened kits and have the seller send pics of ALL the sprues. Usually though, if the seller has less than reputable ebay status, or very few sales under his/her "belt".

That P4 kit looks great! I presume you got a pretty good deal on it then?

so, i'm not the only one getting some 'rare deal' here...i can understand your feeling when you found that out. but your case is a outright fraud punishable by law!

i only hope this idiots will soon get back the same kinda deal they had initially offered!

thankx for sharing your experience(s)

oops! please keep us updated on this, in my own point of view, best P4 drogo kit progress!

cheers everyone!!!:icon16:

Ah my apologies, I feel a bit embarrassed now! And you can find the WIP for this kit in the WIP now that I've started it. I've got a deadline of 9th July because I'll be going away travelling for a month and want it done before I go

Yeah I managed to pick it up for £13 from a shop so I was able to check it was all there etc. before I bought. He originally wanted £20 for it but I've bought from him previously so he let me haggle a bit. He also has a 1/16 Fujimi kit. I was tempted by it but it was £25 and I've heard that the fit is terrible on their 1/16 series...

£25 is not expensive, and those kits are very detailed!
