93 civic busted power steering tank/pump

my car was recently in a minor/mild wreck, and my p/s tank/reservoir cracked. a month later and very little driving around the city, I had the tank/reservoir replaced. The pump, and hoses weren't touched. I filled the tank up. hours later, after the car being off, I noticed when I drove away a stain on the floor. I noticed that the steering did get a bit smother. however when I drove away again from a diff. spot, I noticed p/s fluid on the floor again.
Any thoughts on why theres fluid leaking? And why after maybe 10miles after I filled the tank back up is the steering not fully "smooth" again?
