Hi-Res XP4 pictures

Does anybody have really nice high-resolution (1280x1024 or higher) pictures of the XP4 (or any other F1s in same/similar blue, if there were any)?

I was gonna say - "Greg, you missed the best one!" but you've added it in your second post. That side view with the doors and engine covers open is actually my desktop wallpaper at the moment - I love that shot! :thumbsup:

Hey Patrick - how have you been? Seen any exciting collections recently? I haven't seen much from you since you departed F-Chat. Hope all is well! :)

If you need even more pics of XP4, I took a whole slew of them in Monterey in 2005. They used to all be hosted on Imagestation but Sony shut that site down last year so I would have to rehost them somewhere if you want to see them.

I always aim to keep the best 'til last ;)

Hey Erik! How are you? Yeah, it's been a long time!

I am getting more and more passionate about Bristish cars. I've been trying to learn more about them, and hope to learn more about McLaren from this wonderful online community! I was reading the posts on this forum for hours yesterday. I think Italian cars have passion, German cars have function, and British cars have both. I recently picked up a new Lotus Elise (which I've been driving as a daily-driver : my Lotus blog (http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f3/lotus-daily-driver-blog-patrick-shim-51131/)) and considering picking up a Lotus Exige S240 as a track/road car.

Out of all the British cars, I am finding McLaren to be the crown-jewel (obvisouly). It's not because of the price-tag, but I think the pedigree (McLaren's fairly new, compare to Maserati or Ferrari, but extremely successful history), performance and the attention to detail extremely sexy.

XP4 is just my absolute favorite. I am not sure if there are any other F1s in that blue, but I think the blue exterior in XP4 is so amazing and looks the best with the design -- XP4 in blue and LM in orange are my dreams! I cannot believe I missed the Crystal Cove meet when the XP4 was there! The following week after the CC, there was another cocktail event with XP4 in Newport Beach, but I missed that one, too... I am still kicking myself for missing out those rare opportunities.

Very cool Patrick - sounds like you are enjoying that Elise. I know I would be - that is probably the next car on my list if I can find a way to swing it. Sorry to hear that you missed out on XP4. Hopefully it will make some more appearances this summer and you will get your chance again. It really is stunning to look at in person.

As for that pic of it on track, I actually increased the size of what the photographer had initially shared on his website to make that 900x600 sized image. I sent him an email asking for the originals, but he wasn't interested in sharing them under any circumstances unfortunately.

Unless you were living under a rock in the summer of 2005 you should have already seen them. They were taken the same day I saw and rode in chassis #068 and I posted them all at about the same time in here. If for some reason you don't think you have them, let me know.
