Spongy brakes

Alero 2.2 Ecotech

Hello,
I just put on new pads and rotors on the front of my 2004 Alero. Upon heavy braking the pedal goes almost to the floor. And on regular stopping I need to push the brake in a little bit futher than normal. Is the common, or should I bleed the brake lines?

Thanks,
Tom

How did you get the caliper pistons back in the caliper to install the new pads? Did you use a special tool like a c-clamp or break open any of the brake lines or open the bleeder? You can try bleeding but keep an eye on the master cylinder fluid level as you do it.

are pads on correctly... wear indicator should be ont he inside... I made the mistake of thinking all four pads were the same. I had two inner padds on one side and 2 outer pads on the other. I wasn't spongy per say but I had to go furher to floor to stop.
