power window motor?

well it might be my cars time...the driver side window almost never can make it all the way up or down in one shot..eventually if you wait long enough in between tries it will make it, but its getting annoying!!! the passenger side is almost the same thing to..i have a 2000 trans am ws6..anyone have experience in swapping the motors in the door? and what brand to get? any help would be nice..thanks

The first thing I need you to do is check to see what kind of voltage you're getting to the motors...hook up a voltmeter and press the button down...if you're losing power then u have a wiring problem...if you are not getting the proper amount of voltage then the new motor is going to react the same way..also check to see if the rubber around the window is not off the track causing the glass to bind or something else interferring with its operation....but if it passes the test, then replace the motors. You might have rivets holding the motor...hopefully not

another thing..the window is stuck now, like 3/4 the way up..i can hear a buzzing noise coming from under the dash when i hit the window button..but it dont move..only the driver side window is stuck..passenger works fine...i think its a relay buzzing??? could it be a relay problem? not a motor??

That buzzing sound is probably the relay getting the voltage it needs.. Take off the door panel...There should be screws around the panel and look for some hidden ones and there might be one at the door latch. The first thing I would look for is to see if the connection to the motor is on. I've seen them come off in the past. If its on chances are good that the motor is bad and needs to be replaced. Be sure to check the voltage going to the motor. Then take out the motor.
