Wanna know about a 79 espirit

There is a 79 firebird espirit for sale down the road from me. Its for sale for 6K. I thought that was kinda low? It has 1000 miles on rebuilt engine and tranny. Interior is flawless, no rust, a few door dings, underbody is spotless, but its a ugly color. What made firebirds espirits? And is 6k a good price?

Espirit would be a step above base.
