I have a 1989 Caprice with a 350 engine. Well about 3 hours ago, I tried to start my car and it turned over slow. I tried again but this time all power was gone. I looked underneath the hood and reconnected the terminals to get a better connection. I started my car again and the same thing happen. For the last couple of weeks my car battery light has been "flickering" on and off. 1 of my spark plugs wires has been rubbing up against my engine and it look burnt in a spot. Can someone help me please. Sorry about the last thread.

If the idiot light has been flickering, then that would signal your alternator has gone or is going south. Sound like you need someone to jump start the car for you and then you need to test the output of the alternator with a volt-meter.

if you have a meter and a battery charger you can fix this problem...if not have towed to repair center....as you may do more damage..
