First Race....

Well this is my first post as i only just found this site and decided to join.
So Hey
Well my first race hmmm let me think ugh.....okay
Being only sixteen i have to be carefull because in Ohio law has it that if i am stopped by the 5-0 for even a speeding violation i loose my license for six months. Well i own the JCW mini cooper s and being from england, naturally i wish to have babies with the car. I understand that some of you sport car loving nuts hate everything about the mini but the reality is you probably haven't got to experience how much fun they are to drive. Anyway i digress. My first race story......
When i first got my mini in febuary i had an alta cold air intake installed and that was basically all i did. The car puts 220 horse hooves to the pavement so i love the feel of it around the street. Anyway....I was coasting to a stop light in early march and the sun was beating down on my little car. Up ahead a white mustang GT was waiting at the light with music blaring. Despite my english descent i recently developed a love of American muscle and i switched to the left most lane to pull up next to the car to admmire it. The driver saw me glance at his vehicle and gave a sharp crisp rev up to i'd say 3 grand. The pipes crackled and the car shuddered and i couldn't suppress a smile that crept across my face. I revved back just for fun then realized what i had just incited. The light was still red and i saw the driver of the mustang sit back in his seat and put the GT into first. Adrenaline just started pulsating through my body as i gripped my carbon fiber shifter. The light of the adjacent light went amber and i could hardly breathe. Green!!! I screeched a little off the line but the Mustang predictably did as well. We were both neck and neck through the intersection but my red line was higher. He shifted to second and i had an additional moment in first where i pulled ahead before i had to shift. The road curved right and i had half a car length. The ambivalent slope was unerving but the mini's stiff suspension held strong. At this point I was doing about 90 and i eased on the brakes as i approached the next light. The mustang driver took a right on red giving me a thumbs up as he past. My first experience was over but the dream had just begun...... hahaha:naughty:

i love the mini, you lie. The mini is teh absolute non-compensation owning automobile. Your p3nis might be 3 ft long. and good race, break it into smaller paragraphs next time for me though, because all the words run together. You know us americans and our illiteracy ;)

I am not sure what year the mustang was, as i only recently have gained interest in American muscle cars so can't really differentiate between them yet.
About the picture comment, I will be sure to put some pictures up once i finish this week. It is exam week you see and i am totally swamped. But sure thing.
P.S. I appreciate the comments about my literacy haha something i pride myslef on. Also props to the guy that says he likes mini's i made a friend already haha.

i love those mini jcw's myself. a fully bolted up jcw one with all the upgrades you could get was a car i wanted for awhile, knowing i couldnt afford it. it makes a normal 22k mini into a 40k mini performance beast. pretty sure it could be done cheaper, but its all dealer warrentied parts.
220whp is more than enough in a mini. but you cant wait to add more ;)
auto-x that thing. have a blast in it and give people a run for their money.

a) Nice race...while it's not my first choice of automobile, I have nothing against Minis.
b) Where in Ohio are you from? (Cleveland here)
c) Did they change the law since I got my license? Because I got popped for 19 over the limit when I was 17 and I "only" got a 45 day suspension. I don't know...maybe I'm getting old, but I'm not aware of that law.
d) Welcome to the forums.

It's called the Union Jack...
And you spelled "myself" wrong. Your first epic fail! congrats!
And "meself" is a common term used by the british... so, out of place here... perfectly there.
An Epic misunderstanding really.....
Pics... I want pics!

First rules of American street racing:
#1 Mustang drivers don't lose
#2 Mustang drivers don't have a thumb to give to you up
So, I will have to call BS :)
The only thing that could redeem your story would be for said mustang driver to assume that #1 has to be true and had henceforth already won the race before it even started or for him to have accidently confused his thumb for his middle finger. However, I will just assume that the car was stolen.
Congratulations. You're story has just been validated. Enjoy the Boards.

Aw I feel bad after that post being a hated mustang driver ( although perhaps for not too much longer). It is fun proving the stereotype wrong tho:wink:

I do believe that lamehonda is right about the thumbs thing. I work with a guy who has a new Mustang GT. He indicates things with his middle appendage quite often at work. Plus, he lost to a Z28, but claims he won... furthermore validating what you speak.

He never lost to travis...he just never raced him. Jay just floored it and took off and travis never really did anything...but if they ever want to line them up I'm pretty sure you and me could set that up!
And to the OP, nice race and I would also like to see pics of the mini!
