Well, this should keep Chris happy :p
Started it today with the cutting and removing of the bumpers.
Here's a quick look as to what i'm thinking off doing.
Well be lowered with VIP 18's.....probably the ones in the photo.
Got plenty more to do.
The SAS kit from Chris is fantastic.Fits really nicely and only need a small amount of tidying up and the edges to look good.
I've still got plenty of filling and sanding to do before the body gets undercoated.
I'm thinking of filling the join's where the new body kit fits to give it a nice smooth one piece look at the front and rear.
Looking at painting it Black so it also highlights the chrome wheels.
Updates will follow as progress gets made.

This is going to be a great one for sure. BTW for future reference, what did you cut the bumpers off with? On my civic i used a dremel, but it melted a lot of the pastic away.

Got the bumpers and skirts on today after a bit of extra sanding etc to get them to fit. Luckly for me i found out today that Tamiya glue will not make a strong bond with resin. So i brought some new super glue called hotstuff which is meant to be really good.
It sets in 10-30 seconds, so you have to be quick.
I used it to attach the bumpers and i have to say the PMan is very very impressed by the stuff.
RyanGiorgio....i just used a sharp modelling knife, running back and forth through the panel line untill it was cut though. Takes a while, about 30 minutes for each bumper.
The front turned out really well, but the back is harder and i stuffed one side up which will need a bit of putty to fix up. Didn't think i went to bad as this was the first time i've done this kind of job
Body is sanded...just waiting for the putty to dry before a final sand then prime

Here we go !! The gap was to large for my liking so i've filled it and it will look like a "one piece panel" with no seem line :p :p
This is the second coat of putty. The first one was layed on as thin as i could get it to fill the hole then sanded. The second one is now ready to sand when dry. I lay this coat on pretty thick so i get an idea as to were i'm sanding etc the panel to get it looking right.
The side skirt has been filled to take up a slight gap at the rear also.

What I did was filled the gaps with putty then before the putty completely dried I put the blade of the exacto knife ino where the original panel line was. Works pretty well, I just made sure that the lines I made were straight edges.

A good tip here is to use .010 plastic sheet to fill the gap a little. Because you are actually removing plastic when scribing your way through, you need to replace it some how and there's no better way to replace plastic than with plastic now is there?:D
The gap at the rear of my Celica is ok for me but i did need to add some plastic at the front, i'll post pics 2moro.

All i have done to the back is cut about 1.5mm of the shock so it sits higher in the wheel well. The frame that goes across the chassis has been sanded down to about half its thickness which should give it a good enough drop

Here's a few pics of mine. I'm just trying to decide how to lower it too, i will look into your method too Warren. I've already made a start at narrowing the track at the front by filling down the face of the hub that comes into contact with the rim - similar to how i did it on the S2k. The rims are from an Altezza kit, they are 17" - shock, horror!!! I've decided not to use 18" coz i feel the car still sits a little too high with them even after lowering, i think the 17"s look fine on it IMO

Warren,
be careful as The Squadron's "white putty" WILL shrink over time...if you did not give it enough time to gass out, it could damage the paintjob by spidercracking the topcoat over the putty.
