Low speed fan

I have a 2000 grand am SE and when i have the heat or airconditioning on the low speed fan won't work, it will only work when it is on 3 or higher. Just wondering what the problem might be.

This is a question I always wondered about too! I bought my car almost new and the 1 or 2 setting never worked! I always thought I was the only one!

Sounds like it might be a blower motor resistor.
