i need help. I have a ford focus that I had to replace a timing belt. car ran great for 4 days then all of a sudden started to idle rough, lost acceleration power and is eating gas.:banghead: A po171 code was pulled. I have replaced at this point plugs, wires, coil, o2 sensor and fuel filter. it runs a tiny bit better but still doing the same thing. After I replaced the coil the cel has not come back on at all. Does anyone have any other suggestions? :screwy: I have dumped way too much money in this stupid car. i can't get rid of it with the way it is running. any suggestions are very much appreciated. thanks?

You should have it compression tested at a local shop. You replaced everything, so unless the timing belt got replaced wrong its probably something internal. Good luck to you.

PO171 trouble code is system too lean. This is consistent with the valve timing being retarded more than normal. It could have jumped a cog in the timing belt. Before investigating this any further, I would disconnect the negative battery termnal for 10 minutes to reset the computer. After doing work on your car the computer needs to relearn the parameters of your engine under new condiltions.
