my neon died on me while I was driving, the oil light came on but I lost all power. everything has checked out, but I think its the "fusible link" which was not attached to the the starter when I first checked under the hood. I re attched the "fusible link" I was able to start the car, then when the car moved it died again now I can't start it and I have no power except for the oil light is on if the battery is hooked up. if anyone has any ideas or knows were I can find a fusible link online. does anyone know how much they cost it looks like it will be easy to replace if only I could find one. all the salvage yards around my town don't let you get the parts yourself and they are confused about what the "fusible link" is. I'll be grateful for any help.

Oil light coming on means oil pressure is low. Did you check the level?

the oil light came on a few times, days before I had any trouble I thought it was over heating at first. I checked the oil, and its good. I suspected the fusable link because after reattaching it to the starter I had power again and the car started. then after letting the car idle for about a minute I tried to drive off, it died again. then I check the wire with the fusable link that went to the starter it had come off, now reattaching the fusable link doesn't help at all. if the battery is hooked up the oil light is on, with or without the keys in the ignition.
