Boost Question.

Ok, so I am most likely going to purchase a 98 GST here in the next week or so. It has a fully built engine (forged internals and the works), some head work, and all supporting mods. The engine only has 2000 miles on the rebuild. BUT it only has a 1st generation turbo on it, im curious how much boost I can safely get out of that turbo and how much horsepower it could make?

It is certainly likely that the level of boost would not be the limiting factor in a car like that. With a built motor it could handle any amount of boost. The problem then becomes the "weakest link". Its the part which cannot fully support the turbo. For instance are your fuelp pump and injectors upgraded? These will be maxed out before the turbo. This holds true for so many things which are not designed for higher than stock boost levels. If everything is fully capable of supporting the 14b than you shouldn't even have to ask that just take the boost controller off and have some fun.
