Well car is getting tired but would like to make cooling fans come on manuelly if possible my a/c never worked in a years I realize hi/lo pressure switch controls the fans.My a/c isn`t charged.I would like to put a switch for fans (car only get hi temp when in city).Witch wires would I run for fans to come on.I did the test shutting car off unpluging temp sensor then starting car and fans do come on.Can I cut wire going to sensor and install a switch.it`s a 2000 grand prix 3100.Next vehical will be 3800 gtp.Need to make this last 1 year

Sorry but the delayed reply. I guess no one wants to touch this this one. :uhoh: If your A/C was operational you wouldn't have to worry about it. All you need to do is install a switch, mount it under the dash and tie the wiring into the main engine compartment fuse box to the cooling fan relays. You can get a multiple contact switch. That way work the cooling fans in low or high positions. Also companies like ZZP have a kit available which will work with the 3100 engine.

I would not mess with the ECT sensor or wiring to it since it is used for the temperature gauge at the IP cluster and a reference for the PCM module to turn on the fans at the right engine operating temperature.
