Anita's Acrylic paints

I saw in a recent issue of scale auto mag a Porsche that was painted entirely in acrylics. On top of the usual suspects (tamiya and model master) they had some other craft acrylic paints. While at hobby lobby the other day I came across the Anita's acrylic paints in plastic squeeze tubes. The price is definitely right; 2 ounce concentrated bottle for $0.57. Their metallic gold is a dead ringer for X-31 which I was out of. Problem I'm having is getting it thinned out for AB use. It seems to go from too thick to overly runny pretty quickly. I tried thinning with water with poor results while 91% worked better. Has anyone used these craft style paints? There are a TON of color choices and they're extremely cost efficient (cheap you might say :grinyes:).

I have been using these craft paints for years (apple barrel brand) and have always had great results. Though I generally use them on interiors, and other flat colored parts like rubber, and some plastics. I have never tried to clear coat them to get a shine, but I'm sure that if you use an acrylic gloss clear, it would work just fine.
I usually use distilled water with just a tiny bit of windex, or dish soap. seems to work great with my $13 harbor freight dual action air brush. I also used them a lot when doing military, and trains. you can brush them on...with a brush, and still get nearly perfect paint jobs every time.

I think all these are similar brands. How much do you thin them? I'm using a metallic and it seems to just blow and run over the plastic and not actually stick to anything. Might have to check out the harbor freight AB. My Menards Tool Shop brand isn't worth S&*@.
