The 88 had different rear suspension geometry and stamped steel lower control arms, the struts wont work.

I didn't know the suspension geometry was different, I just knew the LCA's were the wrong way, and hence the shocks were strange..

I've been told that you can just change the LCA's out w/o worrying about anything... but then again, just to be safe, get them, and put the coils on YOUR stock rear struts.

Everything else will fit.

When I say the geometry is different I know that at least the upper links were mounted in different positions. giving the car "reactive caster" or some crap. Its just the black sheep when it comes to the rear suspension.

thanks , just a side question, is this "black sheep" suspension in all jdm crx's or is it year based or is just the si models or combination of these and is it a worth while upgrade or will i not be able to tell the difference when driving, thanks

it's always worthwhile to go with stiffer suspension if you do any kind of sport driving, like fast cornering... it's also just good to add a little feel of the road to keep you awake... lol

If you get the lower control arms for a '89-91 Si, you will have the added benefit of being able to install the stock rear anti-sway bar, adding more roll-control to the suspension, and you will be able to use those struts... these are a direct bolt in, same length and dimensions as the '88 models, just cast instead of stamped.

so the front assembly is the same, except that the crx si would have the 26 spline axles vs my 23 splines, and why do they have that rubber wheel looking thing in the middle of the cv axles. Does the 88 crx si have a bigger diameter front sway bar, and would it work in mine? also would the fuel pump work for mine as well?

The front sway bars are all the same size. What your really looking for is to add a rear sway bar to the car. The stiffer the front swaybar the more understeer the car will have, causing it to push in corners. If your looking for a stiffer sway though, you can use the ones from a 90-93 integra. Different trim levels have different sized sway bars. Im currently using the front and rear off an integra RS and I like the feel and the amount of oversteer (rear end out) I get in corners.
