trans/t-case...is there a seal between them?

Heres the deal. I have the Mazda 4 w/od in a '89 fullsize. The trans is shot but the t-case is good. I got a replacement trans and t-case that is the exact opposite...good trans bad t-case. I know the two unbolt and line up but is there a gasket/seal between them, and if so, what kind? I know it's a dumb question and i could probably do the easy thing and pull them to find out but i'd rather ask first...
