1969 Chevy Camaro RS

I'm looking to buy a 1969 Chevy Camaro and I found one for sale. It is $5700 here are the specs

1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO RS 210hp 327 engine, 85,500 miles, Vehicle title: Clear, Body type: Coupe, Engine: 8 Cylinder, Exterior color: White, Transmission: Automatic, Fuel type: Gasoline, Interior color: Blue, Air conditioning, Power windows

I don't know too much about cars, is that a good deal or am I being ripped off. Thank you

First and MOST important. If you and a seller agree on a price, you're NEVER being ripped off. If you agree and then the price changes, THAT'S a rip-off. But when buying an old car, the price is what ever the market will bear! If you agree to a price that's too high, you may have ripped yourself off... Don't blame the seller! (:-

The asking price for such a car appears a bit low in today's market. I would examine the car carefully, mainly for rust in inobvious places. May be best to take a professional body guy with you that's familiar with 1st gen F-bodies, to look at it. DO NOT buy it "sight unseen". Those things seldom work out in the buyer's favor.

If it really is original and "low" mileage, buy it and drive it. Leave it alone. Value of such a car is drastically reduced if modified. This of course, is my opinion. You're free to spend your money where and when you please.

I would say that if you don't know what to look for take a pro with you. Even if its just a guy that owns (or had owned) one, he could at least give you a heads up. Check for body filler...everywhere. Check the upper rear shock mount area. Check the front subframe for being bent from jacking the car up often. (alignment problems)
I would think with a price that low, it would be a project.
Check parts prices in your area before you buy it too.
If it needs something(s) you can't afford right now, think about whats going to happen afterwards. (Will it just be sitting till you get the money? etc)

I decided not to buy it. When the guy sent me pictures I deemed this too sketchy of an operation. It was advertised as a '69 Cheverolet Camaro with a 327 engine. I was sent pictures of a Chevrolet Chevelle with a 454 engine. I don't know what the guy was trying to pull, but I don't trust him.

Probably a wise choice. If somethig sounds too good to be true, chances are, it IS!
