hi i have a 96 eclipse gs-t
but i was wandering if i can take,
i want to say 92 or 93 6 bolt non turbo engine. If i can change the internals and everything to run more hp. so basically is it possible to make a reliable non turbo engine to a turbo engine if change internals
P.s it has the squares flat head like turbo do, not the rectangle tall head if you no what i mean.

thanks for all the help
i really appreciate it !!

The only differences between a NT and a turbo block is the absense of oil squirters on the NT an the higher compression ratio. As long as you put in some turbo or aftermarket pistons you should be fine, its debated whether or not the oil squirters are actually even needed.

Also, 6 bolts only came in 90, 91, and most 92, so be sure you check it out on the 92 and there are no 93 6 bolts.

sorry if im butting in on your thread but i had basicly the same question.

but... is the N/T engines stock internals still able to hold as much power as the turboed 6-bolt? im wanting an engine for my talon but its heard to find a 6-bolt laying around for very cheap. i would put my own turbo of there anyway... so would it be a good idea? they are alot cheaper 2...

thanks a ton.

N/T motors have high compression pistons in there. If you take the stock N/T motor and drop it in place in a turbo motor, you're more than likely going to blow something up. The motors aren't made for high compression turbo applications.

So, the best way to do that would be to get the N/T block, swap pistons to low compression turbo pistons, and then swap motor in.
