Spout connector?

The timing for my '86 Bronco, 5.0 FI is way off, and we have tried everything to adjust it, but it still runs like the timing is retarded. A friend said the "SPout" (spark output controller?) connector may be shorted.I have tried in vain to find any information about this component.

Some people have said it's on the right side of the engine comp't, others say it's on the left wheel well. I'm beginning to doubt the very existence of this component, but I have tried everything else.

Can anyone please provide info, or better yet, pictures of this unit? I'm at wits end.

Thanks

On my '87 Mustang it was on the same wiring that the module was on. The module connected to the front of the distributor. I dont know about that year Bronco though but I would guess it would be the same if the module was located in the same place
