Hello to all,
I have a 1994 Camaro, 3.4l v6, 5 speed manual, 150,000 miles.
Background:
Last summer I had a lower intake manifold coolant leak so I replaced the gasket.
In doing so I had to remove the lifters and rocker arms to get the gasket in place. When I put everything back together, I over tightened the rocker arm bolts and the motor would not turn. I pushed the car in the garage until I had time to work on it again.
Today:
After about eight months I had time to work on my car. I pushed her out of the garage, removed the spark plugs, rocker arms and lifters to alleviate what I had thought was stopping the motor from turning, but now I cannot get the motor to turn at all. I am using a breaker bar with a socket on the crankshaft balancer bolt with no movement at all. I did loosen the bolt in the middle of the balancer, so I think I am using enough force and that the motor has seized.
My question:
Is there another way to turn the motor, other then the crankshaft? I was thinking of pushing the car and popping the clutch to try and work things loose, but am scared of causing more damage. What do you think?
Thank you as always for your thoughts!
Jack

Having had a coolant leak and then letting it sit for 8 months, you may have rust in the bores and on the crank preventing it from turning over. If this is the case...time for a new engine. If you manage to break it loose, all of the loose rust (oxidized iron/steel) is going to tear up the engine anyway.
