My G6 unfortunately has the black dash. Time to buy a light colored dash mat for summer. Anybody have one out there? Where have you purchased yours? Checked Auto Zone and they link you to Global Accessories with mat starting at $30.

I don't own a dashmat. I think I've seen one person with it, I'll have to check again. If so I'll ask where they bought it from. Enjoy your new 6... I'm sure you'll like it better then the grand am... i know i do! :iceslolan

Very old post but I just got a 06 G6 and thus far it is a real hoot to drive.
At present all dash mats are on sale for $25.00 with free shipping and I guess the slow economy got to them to.
Google - 'auto dash mat' and you 'll get a lot of hits.

I went to WalMart and bought a piece of gray automotive flooring for $8.00 and made my own. Take a couple pieces of newspaper and tape them together then lay it on the dash and make a sketch pattern and slightly depress the paper over the defrost vent and mark the hole with a felt tip marker and don't forget the sensor in the middle. (I don't know if they all have the sensor.) Be particular and it might take a few times to get the pattern just right. Lay the piece of material on the floor backside up and mark the pattern on it. Then take scissors and carefully cut it out just right then fix it to the dash with a couple os SMALL pieces of velcro so it won't slip off. The leftover can be put on the back deck to help protect it from sunlight.

Be careful getting a light color because some colors reflect in the windshield and make it hard to see. Granted, the store bought dash mats look better, but I'm not out to impress anybody and if my home made dash mat is that offensive, . . . let 'em walk.

WHAT? You don't like my home made dash mat? Here, take that. WHAP! :slap:
Times is hard baby and you got'ta save a few bucks every chance you get.
