what do i have to fix if the engine is running on 2 cylinders?

You gave almost no information as such how miles since last tune up. So I would suggest complete tune up which includes, plugs, plug wires, distributer cap, distributor rotor, air cleaner, oil change and oil filter. If you still have problems check the coil.

i changed the distributor cap and the carberator and it smokes alot when i first start it when its cold
